   Amen. I can’t get enough of Bob Dylan. I don’t know if I need to go to a therapist or just go with it. I think I will go with it.

   This is the best version of this song, of course. It sounds Springsteen-ish to me. It almost sounds like a Leonard Cohen tune, maybe. Dylan DID write this song (some people here think otherwise). “You were striped, you were plain”……Dylan, still redefining what makes a lyric to all the bozos with writers block.

   you’re right, especially if it were put to the credits of a film…plus, nobody with a soul would be able to walk out of the theatre with this song playing.

   i prefer the bootleg version, i find that it has quite a bit more emotion in it and some of the lyrics are changed. both versions are beautiful though, i love his voice in his older days from 1990 on, full of wisdom and pain and love and so many different things, he just gets better with age in my opinion
