January 25, 2010 12:43 pm | #2I bought the CD, “together through Life”. I don’t think it’s good marketing to sell a CD and not have this on there. I don’t have “itunes” and I don’t think I should have to have “itunes” to hear this version. This is a much smoother version than the version that came out in 1969. I know this post isn’t going to change the delivery but it would be a democratic effort to make what is produced available to people like me who don’t want all the bells and whistles not on the music canvas.
January 25, 2010 1:13 pm | #3I just made a cover of this wonderful song, different though, but that’s the idea behind covers, isn’t? Anyway, I’d appreciate some feedback. Thanks again for uploading this great piece!
January 25, 2010 1:36 pm | #4I first heard this song only 2 days ago. It was the perfect place to listen to it, in Christiania (Copenhagen). I wasn’t sure if it was indeed Bob Dylan…but it was. The guy behind the bar liked the song so much as well that he just kept on playing it time after time. It’s a great song! I’ll cover it…and see what happens.

January 25, 2010 2:28 pm | #6The master tape of the 3rd version was sold on eBay about 3 months ago and fetched around $45,000. I’ve heard 30 seconds of the take and it’s breathtaking. Do a google search and you’ll learn more.
January 25, 2010 2:54 pm | #7I believe that actually the master tapes were apparently pawned or sold off for rent money
January 25, 2010 3:49 pm | #8Where did you hear the 3rd take?
January 25, 2010 4:30 pm | #9Odd story. The 3rd take original master reel was sold on Ebay about 6 months ago. It brought $35,000 or $45,000. The seller had the legal rights to it and was some how in on the production of Nashville Skyline. The auction, logically, was for just the tape and not for the intellectual property nor the song rights to Lay Lady Lay. Imbedded in the auction was a link that one could opt into that played a 1 minute MP 3 of the take. Breath taking. Better than the 2nd take that’s readily available.
