@wolves2099 versions… Blood on the Tracks, 1978-bible, 1984-different lyrics and chords (Moderate), almost forgot 1975 New York version- different tuning and lyrics, I could go on until the present but I won’t. The point is that I don’t believe he is changing words on the fly, they are clearly though out.

December 12, 2009 11:43 am | #2There is one with way better quality and 1.4 million views. Just search “Tangled Up In Blue” it’ll be on the account BobDylanVEVO
December 12, 2009 11:58 am | #3It’s intentional. Just as it’s stated below. Listen to any live Dylan. He makes up the words as he goes. That documentary that Scorsese did talks about how in the studio he just kicks into songs without counting off and the band has to just be ready.
December 12, 2009 12:43 pm | #4what i mean is that she wouldnt be wondering if her hair was still red, she would already know, he or i would wonder.
December 12, 2009 12:47 pm | #5He constantly change the words to songs…. Intentional or not its just a part of who he is. With as many songs as he has written I am surprised he can remember half of them. He is brilliant that he can change the words on the fly. I have two other versions of this song where he completely changes the words. Also not that I was there but did talk to some who saw him after he became born again where he substituted religious references in several versus of this song.
December 12, 2009 1:22 pm | #6think he makes a mistake at the start, he said……”SHE was lying in bed, wondering if SHE had changed at all, if her hair was still red” should of been “HE” or he sometimes he sings “I”. or was this intentional? im not putting him down, hes a genius.
December 12, 2009 1:26 pm | #7intentional i believe. because the rest of the song is almost all in third person
