    Bob Dylan always considers himself a poet first. That is why he changed his last name to Dylan, to honour Dylan Thomas, his favorite poet. He does honour the name in his writings.

    @klotzstang actually, that’s not why Bob Zimmerman chose the last name “Dylan.” He has said so on many occasions.

    It was a kind of play on Clint Eastwood’s series of movies, where he had no name. It was called “The Man with No Name” series.
